In Vilamoura, 16 Sharp solar panels feed a Kostal Plenticore Plus 7kW hybrid inverter, paired with a Kostal smart energy meter and an 8kWh BYD Battery Box Premium for on-site energy storage. As a hybrid inverter, the Plenticore Plus manages both solar generation and battery charging through a single unit, coordinating when energy is drawn from the panels, stored in the battery, or sent to the home, without the need for separate storage-specific hardware.
The BYD Battery Box Premium adds meaningful flexibility to how the household uses its solar power: energy generated during the day can be held back and used in the evening, rather than exported to the grid the moment it’s produced.
