In Quinta do Lago, 30 Sharp solar panels feed a Kostal Plenticore Plus 10kW hybrid inverter, working alongside a Kostal KSEM smart energy meter and a 16kWh BYD Battery Box Premium. The Plenticore Plus manages solar generation and battery charging together as a single hybrid system, directing energy to the home, into storage, or to the grid depending on real-time demand, without requiring a separate battery inverter.
At 16kWh, the BYD Battery Box Premium offers substantial storage capacity, well suited to a higher-consumption property looking to cover a large share of its evening and nighttime electricity use from solar power generated earlier in the day. The Kostal KSEM smart energy meter tracks that flow in detail, giving a real-time view of production, storage, and consumption across the system.
With 30 panels and 10kW of inverter capacity feeding into a sizeable battery, this installation is built to make the most of the Algarve’s more than 300 days of sunshine a year, converting daytime solar surplus into energy independence well after the sun goes down.
